TEST DRIVE MEME
Thinking about joining Iterum? Unsure of who to bring or if they'll even fit the setting? Posting here offers you the chance to find out how they'll do while getting the sample for done for their application.
→ Comment down below with the character you'd like to test drive in the setting. Don't forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario or create your own, and tag around!
→ Test drives will be posted regularly in the months of March, June, September, and December.
→ Threads in the test drive are NOT eligible to use for activity checks, however, you can make them game canon if you wish and both you and your scene partner agree.
Possible Scenarios
Please note that all characters will initially arrive in their assigned housing; they are free to explore the City to their heart's content after that!
01. Arriving: You're pretty sure you knew where you were before you closed your eyes. But somewhere between then and now, you discover that you're definitely not there. In fact, the setting is so unfamiliar to you that it's bordering on unnerving and questions start to stack. Have you been abducted? Did you get drunk and pass out somewhere and not remember? Whatever the case, you need some answers. Or maybe this is familiar and the only thing that doesn't make sense is the layer of dust on everything around you which obviously means some time has passed. How much? No one seems to know. What you do know is that sitting around and waiting for answers is likely not going to happen.
So, you set out and hope to run into someone in the City that looks like they may be in a similar situation. Or, at the very least a person that might be able to provide some explanation. Veteran Chosen, make sure you warn the new people about the Shadows and advise them to steer clear of dark alleys and things that go bump in the night.
02. Party, party!: Now that you've arrived and hopefully settled, it's time to unwind. Inside your welcome basket is an invitation from the Duchess, who has decided to celebrate the growing population of the City with a massive "Welcome to the City" party in the Tower District. Wine spills free, and drugs abound, this is the kinda party that caters to all! The wicked and debauched demons and the good and decent who, if not careful, might end up tainted and corrupted at some point, like everyone else. Even if it's only for one night, why not cut loose and forget about whatever is pressing on your mind?
Nothing to wear? Check your closet, we're sure you'll find something suitable to wear.
03. Prominence: Everyone knows that the City sometimes influences its population on a monthly basis. Unfortunately, you arrived right in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride: choose your sin and get wicked. You'll find it's hard to avoid being sinful, almost as if your basic instincts are taking over.
04. Run!: A lot can go wrong in the City; demon attacks, muggings or there's even danger of being plucked from the streets and forced to partake in the Coliseum's version of Fight Club (if you know, you know). There are plenty of unsavoury types that all Chosen must be aware of. They rule the night, and once the sun goes down it becomes the Sinning Hour. Demons and monsters and humans capable of inciting just as much fear, if not more, come out to play. Mind yourself. It's hardly a tea party out there.
05. Network: Broadcast a video, voice or text message to anyone in your phone's directory. All Chosen have a device that they can use to communicate. Those that are returning will find their phone as it was, though without any contact that was previously in the City that is not currently. For the newly Chosen, a device will be supplied in your welcome basket and will match the type of telecommunications that was being used at the time of their exit.
06. Wild Card: Choose your own adventure in the game's multiple settings!

Dorian Carver | Vampire the Masqurade | OTA
Awake. Shake dreams from your hair. My pretty child, my sweet one. Choose the day and choose the sign of your day. The day's divinity. First thing you see.
The old Doors tune was drifting through the lazy air. Green eyes snapping open as the man gasped an unneeded breath. 'Did I go to sleep somewhere strange again? Did Matt give me a drugged drink? What? The thoughts tumbled over in his mind as he pushed off the coach he had awoken in, a moment spared to sway in time to the music as it played. Looking for his shoes, and his sunglasses. He recognized this little house as time passed.
Oh. Home again, home again, jiggity jig.
He moved along with the beat of the song as he made his way into the bedroom, tugging off his shirt and changing it. A pair of boots in the closet tugged on despite being dusty. No point in looking in the mirror. The tall vampire made his way out of his small house in Leisurebrook.
The tall messy headed vampire stepped out for the day, a red t-shirt that simply read 'I bite', A pair of blue jeans that were loose on his log legs and a pair of work boots. Sunglasses covered his face as he made his way to a cafe, idly wandering the street humming to himself, then to catch a ride to the tower district. There were always fun things there.
II- Party, party!
At first the vampire can be found lurking in corners doing his best Nosferatu, the movie not of his favorite clan, of course. In time, and after a drink or two, his sunglasses pushed up into his hair as he wandered up to someone at random. Gender? Species, doesn't matter. A pale hand offered over.
"Can I offer you a dance, love?" His accent is hard to peg. He's been many places over so many years, but he just seems so happy to just interact.
After a few spins around the dance floor, he can be found lounging in a chair, watching people with those bright green eyes of his. Taking note, learning and just enjoying the whole vibe of the place.
This world, and the others, they were always so much cooler than being back home.
III- Network
[ As always, the video starts upside down as he quickly rights it. The surrounding green, and flowers in view show he's laid down in someone's garden. A wide toothy grin, and no sign of fangs, greets everyone as the camera is righted. ]
Robot Roll call, Queen D, Caius, Draco, Glinda, Kit-Kat, or Matthew, any of you out there and kicking? Did you miss me?
[ It took everything in him not to say 'Daddy's back'. Maybe he was growing as a person. Unlikely. ]
IV - Wildcard
[Literally anywhere, Dorian likes to explore. If you wanna reach me to plot, hit me up on plurk at

When she sees him again later, she's a few more drinks deep so she has to take a moment to place how she knows him. She doesn't, not at all, but she recognizes him and that's good enough for a friendly drunk like her. She plops down on the arm of the chair and leans against his shoulder.
"What are we looking at?"

The seat the tall thin man was lounging on, with his boots kicked up on a settee. Looking up when Harley plots down next to him. His grin widens a little and those green eyes pop a bit as a strobe light passes them.
"No idea, turtle-dove. I spaced out ages ago." He chuckled as if finding it funny. Lifting the glass he held and taking a drink through a sippy straw, an umbrella in the glass. Maybe it's a bloody Mary. Possibly not.
"Tire yourself out?"
no subject
"Never tired," she said loud enough to be heard over the music and then leaned in closer, close enough to be heard without raising her voice again. "Just taking a break for some refreshment." She lifted her own glass, something too bright and too sweet, and clinked the rim against his own.

A clink of the glasses and a nod given. "Might be the same here, but when you cool back down, I wouldn't mind taking you for a spin back around the floor." He used to hate the balls of old, but modern dances had always amused him to a point. The vampire loved swing and anything that kept those limbs going.
Finally he offered a cold hand over, his nails jagged and uneven but looking glassy. "Name's Dorian, a pleasure."
no subject
Harley took his hand and dipped her head to brush her lips gallantly over his knuckles.
"Harley Quinn."
no subject
"Look at you being the most elegant gentlemen, Harley. Whatever will I do." He playfully added, that grin stayed cheeky. Oh she was fun.
no subject
Harley smirked against his knuckles and twined their fingers together. His skin was cold, but it was a relief after working up a sweat on the dance floor, and she didn't give it a second thought.
no subject
This one would be fun. He squeezed her hand, that grin widening. "Well then, may I have the honor of the next dance then? Surely there is much fun we can have together."

[ He couldn't help but grin. She had always been so straight to the point.]
How have the wild winds blown you around, love?
no subject
cw; illusions to vomit, sorry.
[ He shrugged as he laid in the flowers.]
You feeling any better though? See anyone of interest around?
no subject
I'm fine. [ She waves off the concern because she's in one piece and believes she knows what to expect from the City. The same cannot be said of the people who are arriving right off of the turnip truck. ] You're the first person that I've seen that I know. What about you? Have you run into any familiar people?
no subject
Glad to hear that, and no, I've not seen anyone else familiar yet. I am sure I will, though, its never just us.
no subject
I wonder who else is here. It's weird being back. I had no memory of this place when I was sent back home but now that I'm here, I can remember everything. Flour Power is still here. My bakery. It's not open though.
Network
Long time no see, Dorian.
no subject
Well, aren't you a sight for sore eyes, Zoey. How's life been treating you, love?
network
We're you let go then forced to return?
Re: network
I don't think I was let go as much as I returned home and reappeared here. It has been a few years since I was last here.
no subject
It seems strange you would be sent away, only to be brought back. Is there a reason, I wonder?
no subject
I try not to question it too much. Makes my head spin and such. Better to just roll with it I find.
no subject
Here, it seems like we're trapped.
no subject
It does indeed, which is why I try not to think about it. Best to enjoy my time as best I can.
