TEST DRIVE MEME
Thinking about joining Iterum? Unsure of who to bring or if they'll even fit the setting? Posting here offers you the chance to find out how they'll do while getting the sample for done for their application.
→ Comment down below with the character you'd like to test drive in the setting. Don't forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario or create your own, and tag around!
→ Test drives will be posted regularly in the months of March, June, September, and December.
→ Threads in the test drive are NOT eligible to use for activity checks, however, you can make them game canon if you wish and both you and your scene partner agree.
Possible Scenarios
Please note that all characters will initially arrive in their assigned housing; they are free to explore the City to their heart's content after that!
01. Arriving: You're pretty sure you knew where you were before you closed your eyes. But somewhere between then and now, you discover that you're definitely not there. In fact, the setting is so unfamiliar to you that it's bordering on unnerving and questions start to stack. Have you been abducted? Did you get drunk and pass out somewhere and not remember? Whatever the case, you need some answers. Or maybe this is familiar and the only thing that doesn't make sense is the layer of dust on everything around you which obviously means some time has passed. How much? No one seems to know. What you do know is that sitting around and waiting for answers is likely not going to happen.
So, you set out and hope to run into someone in the City that looks like they may be in a similar situation. Or, at the very least a person that might be able to provide some explanation. Veteran Chosen, make sure you warn the new people about the Shadows and advise them to steer clear of dark alleys and things that go bump in the night.
02. Party, party!: Now that you've arrived and hopefully settled, it's time to unwind. Inside your welcome basket is an invitation from the Duchess, who has decided to celebrate the growing population of the City with a massive "Welcome to the City" party in the Tower District. Wine spills free, and drugs abound, this is the kinda party that caters to all! The wicked and debauched demons and the good and decent who, if not careful, might end up tainted and corrupted at some point, like everyone else. Even if it's only for one night, why not cut loose and forget about whatever is pressing on your mind?
Nothing to wear? Check your closet, we're sure you'll find something suitable to wear.
03. Prominence: Everyone knows that the City sometimes influences its population on a monthly basis. Unfortunately, you arrived right in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride: choose your sin and get wicked. You'll find it's hard to avoid being sinful, almost as if your basic instincts are taking over.
04. Run!: A lot can go wrong in the City; demon attacks, muggings or there's even danger of being plucked from the streets and forced to partake in the Coliseum's version of Fight Club (if you know, you know). There are plenty of unsavoury types that all Chosen must be aware of. They rule the night, and once the sun goes down it becomes the Sinning Hour. Demons and monsters and humans capable of inciting just as much fear, if not more, come out to play. Mind yourself. It's hardly a tea party out there.
05. Network: Broadcast a video, voice or text message to anyone in your phone's directory. All Chosen have a device that they can use to communicate. Those that are returning will find their phone as it was, though without any contact that was previously in the City that is not currently. For the newly Chosen, a device will be supplied in your welcome basket and will match the type of telecommunications that was being used at the time of their exit.
06. Wild Card: Choose your own adventure in the game's multiple settings!

"Of course they are, it would be boring otherwise. I simply don't have the time for boring, now do we?" He replied, amusement on his tone. "I am sure we will find out soon enough, or they will simply keep us in the dark again until the last possible second." Yeah, he may be a combat medic, but he was not combat ready. No, wars please, he probably needed therapy over Peru, but he didn't have time for that.
"Yes, I can confirm no injuries here, last I remember was someone was about to paint the sidewalk with my brains, but clearly they didn't." Clearly nothing, the suit he woke in was bloody as hell. But, clearly, the city took pity. "Shall we go check on your art studio then? I am sure if they are together, I do not wish to return home yet. And no, no one else yet besides you."

The mention of painting brains all over the place has her looking him up and down, eyeing those bloody clothes and lifting a colored eyebrow. 'Mmhmm' was the look she gave but wasn't going to point it out. No doubt he knew.
Devi gestures ahead and takes to her easy, long ambling stride.
"If they don't have it, I'm calling bullshit and my suspicions will be roused. First party they host, I'll be there with bells on just to eyeball them. And to test their crabcakes."

Moving to walk in stride with her, his hands going into his jacket as he did so. Herbert had never actually visited the studio, so he was following her for the most part.
"Yes, as you should, yet, the city does enjoy messing with you." He had to say it. He's noticed. "You will have to let me know how that goes, I will not attend another event if I can help it." His social battery was already running low. Devi didn't count though.

She was elated to be out of her proverbial box, and it showed. She was a little too amped up, a little rambling. It was the air, the space, the company.
"If my shop isn't here, then the impending party might be a little exciting, might be wise if you skip it, but I'll reserve that until we see. Not even a little curious who it brings out of the woodwork? Great place to meet new people. Old ones too, if today's wave is anything to go by."

The record will show, he told the truth. Herbert skipped out on it just to clean up his basement lab. Much more important to him.
Though, Devi's amped up energy was a little infectious, and it had the little scientist much more willing to speak openly as he went with her. "You know, I do not believe I've ever been to your studio. Not that I ever cared much for art. Still, I hope it's there, I would love to see what a mind like yours would make. If not, I want to hear after what you did to them."
A moment later, he shrugged. "I am not curious at all. I will meet them when they no doubt hurt themselves, or I need more information on Lust." He was going to be PISSED later when he sees all of his work is gone on Lust.

"No? You should. I think you'd like it. I don't paint particularly classically defined as 'pretty' art. Some of it is pretty weird. Weird is your vibe too." So he should come by. But she grins at the addition to his statement. Oh, she'd write him a report if he wanted.
"Shame. Well, I'll take all that fun on your behalf. It's the fun part for me, seeing who's running the new circus."

Nodding as he walked alongside of her. "I will trust your judgement on that, Hans once drug me to Kunsthaus Zürich, but very few pieces caught my interest." His old father figure had tried to get the young man to open up to art and culture, but neither worked. Still. A good memory all the same. "I do quite enjoy weird." That chuckle followed as he said it. "Alright, my interest is piqued." He absolutely would read a written report she made.
"Please do, but let me know if anyone stands out that I should keep an eye on."
no subject
"Of course. I'll come back with a full report, Sir." It's said with a little salute and a saucy flick of her wrist as she drops her hand.
"I don't think it'll be that exciting but they always start soft. Impact should be just-"
They round the corner and Devi lets out an ungodly squee, one hand reaching out to grip Herbert's shoulder. "It's there."
