New to the game, formerly of BN!
Hi folks! I'm Elle (used to go by a family nickname Duckie but it's been painful to keep the moniker in recent years) and I'm bringing in the lovely Cordelia Chase from Angel/Buffy canon. I've played her on and off over the years, on LJ and DW but never in BN. Back then I had Annie Cartwright from Life on Mars. It's awesome we'll get the chance to play around with these mechanics again as writers!

I know a plotting post is coming early next month but I'll be out of town at the end of July for a few weeks for my impending nuptials. To that end, I wanted to do some planning with folks since I'll probably be able to volley some tags, even while gone, but would be harder to pin down after the 20th of this month to hash out details.
For those of you who know Cordy's canon, I'm taking her from s2e21 of Angel. (She has five years of canon because the predecessor show had her recurring for three seasons before Angel spun off.) When she arrives, Cordelia will have last been in Pylea, before reconnecting with her canonmates to get home, so she’s already slipped into an alternate dimension. Don't worry if you don't know much about her canon though! I love tagging out. Her canon is set late 90s/early 00s Los Angeles, working for a supernatural investigations team. Vampires, ghosts, you name it. She has semi-prophetic visions of folks in danger so that's something that we can always mess with. Cordelia doesn't need to know, or even have met, your character for this. She usually doesn't know the people she is expected to help.
Ideas we could chart out:
- Visions: As mentioned above, she can get visions of your character. We also have her sight show some random city denizens who need saving, if you're more about the hero vibe.
- Negative CR: I'd really like for her to have some negative CR that's short-lived although the fallout can be for as long as you like. I always want a chance to just have a rotten relationship that neither writer plans on seeing through and can add to the fun nature of connections gone awry. To this end, it's likely one of her canon love interests is joining in a month or two so there is a definite expiration date.
- Gossip Queen: Cordelia has grown a lot from the shallow person she was in the first three years to four years of her canon. Now in her fifth year, for us as viewers, she's tapped into that caring heart. ...But she is also a former mean girl and self-proclaimed 'meanest girl in Sunnydale history' living in the district for Pride so. She would love nothing more than some pals of any gender who want to dress well, sip drinks, and spill secrets at her penthouse apartment.
- Whodunnit: I OOCly saw there was an investigation job type of listing and plan to look into that more. Let me know if your chgaracter is involved or would be interested.
